Content:
The theory part of the rigger course is conducted as classroom teaching or as online teaching; in online teaching, you communicate directly with the instructor and have the opportunity to ask questions along the way. The practical part of the rigger course is conducted at one of our departments with physical attendance. The rigger course is delivered as a complete rigger course where all theory and practice are included in the course package. The rigger course provides insight into the principles behind the construction, operation, use, and maintenance of rigging equipment. The purpose is to avoid unwanted incidents and accidents related to rigging operations.

The course covers requirements in the NORSOK R-003 standard:
The rigger course applies to equipment used for horizontal and vertical movement of loads, which is suspended from structures such as beams and others. The course is aimed at offshore and onshore personnel in the petroleum industry but will also be useful for personnel participating in lifting operations onshore.

Content of our rigger course:
•Correct use of fall arrest harnesses, fall arrest blocks, and energy-absorbing lanyards
•Technical requirements for harnesses, connectors, hooks, and lanyards/ropes
•Construction and operation of simple overhead travelling cranes and pillar jib cranes
•Correct and incorrect use of hoists
•Construction and operation of portable winches
•Suspension points, correct use / placement of beam clamps
•Use of auxiliary tools during rigging operations
•Correct use / placement of beam clamps
•Personal safety and the safety of others during rigging operations
•Use of barriers / barrier materials
•SJA - Safe Job Analysis

Rigger course duration:
•Module O-2.2 - 16 hours theory
•Module O-3.2 - 32 hours theory and practice

Hensikten med kurset er å gi blivende riggere en god teoretisk grunnopplæring i sikker bruk av: Fallsikringsutstyr og enkle løfteinnretninger (enkle travers- og søylesvingkraner, håndtaljer, luft- og eltaljer og transportable vinsjer.Opplæringen gir kandidaten god innsikt i prinsippene for fallsikringsutstyrs, enkle løfteinnretningers og transportable vinsjers konstruksjon, virkemåte, bruk og vedlikehold, slik at uhell og ulykker i forbindelse med riggeoperasjoner unngås.

Deltakeren må ha fullført G11 stroppekurs før kursstart.

Opplæringen dekker den nødvendige teoretiske som er nødvendig for å kunne gjennomføre det praktiske riggekurset, Modul O 3.2.

Kurset avsluttes med en teoretisk prøve.

This course combines self-study by e-learning and classroom training with demonstrations and examples which is useful when working in explosive atmospheres.

The concept intrinsic safety is unlike the other Ex protection concepts as it is a system concept. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the system as a whole, how the environment and individual components affect the system to maintain the integrity of the intrinsically safe system.

Assessment Details

Course assessment of 70% pass rate with two attempts.

The shipping industry is one of the most international industries in the world. It embraces virtually every nationality and culture, and the adoption of a recognized safety management system (SMS) is crucial to provide the assurance to administrations, the public and customers on a global scale. A SMS is developed and maintained by people and the result is depending on the human factor of those involved.

The aim of this ISM Code—Safety Management course is to give the SMS involved personnel an understanding of the background, purpose, and aspects of the international safety management standard for the safe operation of ships and for the prevention of pollution at sea (ISM Code).

You can access the course textbook, reading plan with references in the folder named “Support Materials” inside your course area on the web training portal. When you have gained the understanding of the reviewed topics, proceed to the course summary module before completing the multiple-choice test for the course. You can download your course diploma from your training portal course area, after your multiple-choice test are completed and approved.

Under the Code of Safe Working Practices for Merchant Seafarers [Chapter 13.3 Company Duties], the Company must appoint a Safety Committee. The purpose of a Vessel Safety Management Committee is to ensure the safe working practices are being carried out on each vessel, and that there are the relevant personnel appointed responsibilities under the Section [13] and that all the relevant standards and practices are observed and maintained.

About Vessel Safety Management Committees

Standard A4.3, paragraph 2(d), requires the establishment of a safety committee and the appointment or election of safety representatives on board ships on which there are five or more seafarers. Please note that the Ship’s Master is counted as a seafarer. The Safety Committee is a forum for consultation between the master, safety officials and others of matters relating to health and safety. It may be used by individual employers for consultation with the Company and seafarers. Its effectiveness will depend on the commitment of its members, in particular that of the Master.

The Aim of the Course

The aim of this Fully Online, Introduction to the Vessel Safety Management Committee is to instruct the learner in the Companies duties,  the Employer’s duties, the various personnel, and their positions [of authority] and associated responsibilities of the Committee and the development of a positive ‘safety culture’ within the operation of the vessel.

There are no expiry dates placed on Introduction to the Vessel Safety Management Committee Course certificates. Learners do not currently have to undertake a refresher of this course unless directed to do so by the company they are working for.

This FSE High and Low Voltage Training course is suitable for everyone working on low and high voltage installations.

Is previous experience required?

You do not need prior knowledge or experience to complete this course, but it is assumed that you are competent in your designated role.

How will the course benefit me? 

The course meets the requirements set in Section 7 of the ‘Safety Regulations for Work and Operation of Electrical Equipment and Installations – FSE’ which is that all relevant personnel undertake annual training and instruction in FSE. The course also provides the necessary training and instruction in first aid, focusing on electrical injuries, with the exception of the mandatory practical training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).The regulations of various authorities make FSE applicable to all those working with electricity, whether on board ship, on platforms or on land. This course is suitable for all, regardless of which industry you work in.The authorities require that training in FSE and first aid in the event of electrical accidents is undertaken at least once a year. No more than 12 months shall elapse between training courses.

Riktig kompetanse gjennom opplæring i Containerpakkekurs med pakking, sikring og transport av last gir en økt risikoforståelse, og reduserer farene for skader på mennesker, materiell og miljø. Kurset gjennomføres over tre dager, med både teori og praksis, inklusive teoretisk og praktisk prøve.

Virkeområde for Containerpakkekurs med pakking, sikring og transport av last:
Anvendelsesområdet er fra og med leverandør, vegtransport frem til forsyningsbasen, innen baseområdet og frem til fartøy. Likeledes fra og med offshoreinnretning ned til fartøy, fra fartøy ved kai og videre i returkjeden. Fartøy er regulert av kravene i Guidelines for Offshore Marine Operations (GOMO).

Brukerkontroll av lastebærer:
Den som skal ta en lastbærer i bruk, skal på forhånd utføre en kvalifisert brukerkontroll i henhold til Norsk olje og gass skjema for brukerkontroll av lastbærere. All personell som gjør dette arbeidet skal ha Containerpakkekurs med pakking, sikring og transport av last.

ECDIS er et pc-basert navigasjonsverktøy som kan brukes som et alternativ til tradisjonelle papirkart, såkalt papirløs navigasjon.

ECDIS og elektroniske kart (ENC) er en total forandring fra å navigere med tradisjonelle papirkart, med mange fordeler og nye muligheter. Brukt på riktig måte kan ECDIS være med på å sikre og effektivisere dagens ”moderne” navigasjon. På den annen side så er det mange nye utfordringer. Manglende kunnskap om ECDIS og om kompleksiteten i elektroniske kart (ENC) vil være en risikofaktor.

Dette kurset gir grunnleggende kunnskaper, ferdigheter og forståelse av ECDIS og elektroniske kart (ENC). Kurset har ikke som mål å lære bort grunnleggende navigasjon, men hvordan man bruker ECDIS til sikker navigering.

ECDIS kurset er i henhold til IMO-modell kurs 1.27 (2012 EDITION), og STCW Chapter II, Section A-II/1 and Table A-II/1, Table A-II/2 og Table A-II/3.


Ved fullført kurs, skal kursdeltakerne:

- kunne bruke ECDIS på det samme trygge og effektive nivå som ved bruk av konvensjonelle papirkart
- ha kunnskap om muligheter og begrensninger med ECDIS
- kunne vurdere all relevant informasjon og kunne gjøre riktige tiltak i tilfelle en feil
- være kompetent og ha fått en god forståelse av elektroniske kart (ENC)

Kurset gjennomføres etter STCW konvensjonens regel VI/2, avsnitt A-VI/2 og tabell A-VI/2-1.

Etter gjennomført kurs skal deltaker ha kunnskap om:

Betjene motor på en redningsfarkost

Håndtere overlevende og redningsfarkost etter evakuering av skipet

Bruke innretninger til å angi posisjon – herunder kommunikasjons- og signalutstyr og lys- og røyksignaler

Gi førstehjelp til overlevende.
