This course is designed as the basic review of derivatives as they apply to electrical functions. This course will give you the level of understanding that is required for electrical engineers. When you come across theoretical formulas that reference derivatives or use basic trigonometry you will be able to do these without stress from what you have learnt in this course.

This course focuses on the final checks for arrival; on the bridge, deck, accommodation and forecastle to ensure the vessel is compliant in all respects and ready for any inspection. At the end of this module, the candidate will be able to: · Demonstrate the various general checks and tests that are carried out in the accommodation & aft deck to ensure that the accommodation & aft deck are fit for use and compliant during an inspection. · Demonstrate the various general checks and tests that are carried out on the bridge on arrival which ensures the bridge is compliant in all respects and ready for inspection. · Demonstrate the various general checks and tests that are carried out on the upper deck & forecastle on arrival and will be able to ensure that the upper deck & forecastle is compliant in all respects and ready for inspection.

Satellite communication: Today, there is a lot of communication via satellite. In this course, you learn about the satellite systems used at sea. One of these systems includes Iridium, which offers telephony and data communication. The Iridium system has been approved as an emergency system for commercial transport. But it is also interesting for sailors who travel beyond local waters. Another option is the SAT-Phone which, unlike Iridium, gets coverage from geostationary satellites. In this course, we present different phone options for the two systems.

The life of a seafarer is by no means easy. Seafarers spend months at a time away from their loved ones. Needless to say, once the ship docks in port, many seafarers will often attempt to take some shore leave for a limited number of hours to provide them with a short respite from work duties and a change in scenery. This is extremely important to ensure the mental health and wellbeing of the seafarers.

 

In this course, we will provide you with all the information you need to know to spend a day in Karachi.

Students will be familiarised with the types of anchors and styles of the seabed. They will learn how to utilise different anchoring methods and manoeuvres when using one anchor or two anchors to anchor the vessel. Additionally, students will learn how to adhere to the safety distances when anchoring near other vessels and calculate the minimum required length of rope/cable for anchoring in the desired location.

In this course, we will provide you with all the information you need to know to spend a day in Jeddah.

The course explains in detail what are the substantial differences in the choice between a catamaran and a monohull. Both solutions have pros and cons. First of all, it is necessary to understand what our intentions are and what kind of holiday we want to do, depending on this we could be more oriented on one choice than the other. The substantial difference lies in the space we have available and if we want to sail a lot other than being more comfortable at anchor.

The course is in accordance with NS-EN 1591-4 and undergoes the same course content as an ordinary four-day course but without the use of hydraulic torque tool and tensioning tools.

The use of a mechanical torque wrench is the main focus but also a review of procedures, flanges, gaskets, practical tasks and more.

The course ends with a theoretical and practical exam. If passed, the approval is valid for 5 years.

Courses are conducted in Stavanger or Bergen
and is carried out on request.

This course replaces the previous PRO-009 HSE for Safety Delegates (40 hours course) course.

The course is a combination of the e-learning course “PRO-015 HSE for Safety delegates and Leaders” and a 1-day classroom session. It will comply with the Working Environment Act Sections 6-5 and 7-4 on training of Safety Delegates and AMU representatives. The 1-day session takes place preferably in a physical classroom, where topics from the e-learning course will be deepen further, in example through cases and group discussions. The training will be adapted to the company’s needs and preferences.

The course is designed to improve the participants‘ ability to handle HSE challenges in their daily work, and provides reasons for why this work is both useful and profitable. The participants are introduced to the most important principles and methods within HSE work. The course provides a theoretical foundation in HSE, all the time with a clear view of how the work with safety, health and environment is planned and carried out in practice.
