Jeddah is a warm temperature city in Saudi Arabia. It is the commercial centre of the country and was initially established as a fishing village. It was later converted into a port for the Indian Ocean and soon became a gateway for pilgrims who came to Saudi. Jeddah is the second largest city in Saudi Arabia with a population of four million people.
The life of a seafarer is by no means easy. Seafarers spend months at a time away from their loved ones. Needless to say, once the ship docks in port, many seafarers will often attempt to take some shore leave for a limited number of hours to provide them with a short respite from work duties and a change in scenery. This is extremely important to ensure the mental health and wellbeing of the seafarers.
