Kurset dekker krav i NORSOK standard R-003:

Innhold i vårt riggerkurs:
•SJA- sikker jobbsamtale

Riggerkursets varighet:
•Modul O-2.2 - 16 timer teori
•Modul O-3.2 - 32 timer teori og praksis

Eksamen / sertifisering:
Skriftlig teoretisk prøve og praktisk prøve

The training focuses on practical training in an advanced crane simulator and covers key topics such as:

Safety and Regulations: HSE, documentation, control routines, and relevant standards (e.g., NORSOK R-003N).
Operational Planning: Risk assessment, planning of lifting operations and use of checklists.
Crane Functions: Review of the crane's operating characteristics, areas of use, limitations, configurations and safety systems (AOPS, MOPS, Emergency Stop).
Lifting Technique: Practical exercises in lifting different types of loads (light and heavy), including blind lifts and critical lifting operations.
Operating in Challenging Conditions: Simulation of lifting operations in varying weather, wave, current, and visibility conditions.
Advanced systems: Understanding and use of CT (Constant Tension) and AHC (Active Heave Compensation).
Equipment control: Basic maintenance and inspection of hooks, blocks, and steel wire ropes.
Special Operations: Personnel lifting (requirements, limitations, emergency procedures) and handling of fault situations and alarms.
Communication: Correct use of communication equipment and procedures.

Method:
The course consists of 40 hours of intensive training in a simulator under the supervision of an instructor. Each session is evaluated. The simulator training is designed to provide realistic experience and should be scheduled as early as possible in the practical training program.

Practical credit
Completion and passing of the 40-hour simulator course (Module P-4.1) is credited as 75 hours of practical driving in the crane operator's logbook for G5 offshore cranes.

Prerequisites:
To participate in the course, candidates must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
Have completed and passed the following modules (certificate of competence must be presented before the start of the course):
  • Module O-1.1: G11 Lifting Equipment (Alternatively Module 1 and 2.3).
  • Module P-2.1: Fixed crane – theory (G20)
  • Module P-3.1: G5 Offshore crane – theory
  • Module P-4.1: G5 Offshore crane – practice

Further training:
After completing the simulator course, the candidate must complete the remaining required practical driving hours offshore under the supervision of an approved mentor. The number of remaining hours depends on previous experience (e.g., whether the candidate already has a G20 certificate). The final practical test is taken offshore under real operating conditions with an independent examiner.

Evaluation:
The course concludes with an evaluation and/or final exam to ensure that the learning objectives have been achieved.
