Interpersonal communication skills involve more than just exchanging words with someone. It involves the ability to effectively convey information, ideas, and emotions to others. Good interpersonal communication skills are essential for building relationships, resolving conflicts, and achieving common goals. According to a CMSWire report, 97% of employees believe communication impacts their task efficiency on a daily basis. Despite being an absolute necessity, interpersonal communication is not prioritized in organizations and consequences of the same are apparent. Workplace communication statistics show that 86% of employees and executives cite the lack of effective collaboration and communication as the main cause of workplace failures. Furthermore, research carried out by McKinsey shows that well-connected teams can increase their productivity by 20 to 25%.

Course Description:-

This bundle consists of 4 modules on Auxiliary engines and associated electrical  systems. The problems are presented in an engaging storytelling format. Engineers on board will relate to the scenarios presented, and will find themselves constantly challenged to come up with various possible solutions. Application of  the theoretical principles of these systems to resolving real  world problems is the unique aspect of this course.

This bundle focuses on Auxiliary engines and associated electrical systems. 

1) Tackling practical problems faced on board by understanding the causes and how these manifest themselves. 

2)  Interpreting the symptoms, analysing observations and presenting real solutions.

3) Give Engineers an opportunity to practice their skills given a range of issues in these systems.. 

 Learning Objectives:-

At the end of this module, the candidate will be able to

1) Know the correct  way to carry out systematic checks, tests, and calibration. 

2) Learn the correct method of testing and precautions on the associated electrical systems

3) Understand Electro hydraulic Governors; the various adjustments and the effect they have on the Engine operation. . 

4) The correct method of testing of the various electrical and safety protection devices.

5) Interpreting the various parameters after a performance test, crankshaft deflections, engine timing.

6)  The correct method of carrying out maintenance such as filter cleaning, FOV testing, Conrod checks, and decarb.

In the business of shipping, we discuss the importance of understanding shipping costs and the difference between shipping revenues and earnings.

Course Description:-

This course explains the hours of work and rest requirements. It explains the STCW and the MLC rest and working hours.

It explains the cyclic 24-hour cycle and explains the MLC 2006 min rest and max work option. 

Drills, UMS watches, over time and how they would relate to the hours of work and rest explained. 

Various points regarding crew members maintaining individual records, deviation of rest hours in case of emergency, the difference between on-call/standby, and using the planning tool to plan rest hours are explained in depth.  

 This course also serves as refresher training prior to any inspection and, in turn, will boost the confidence of the candidate.  

Learning Objectives:-

At the end of this module, the candidate will be able to

1) Understand the difference between the MLC and the STCW rest and work hours.

2) Explain what is meant by the Cyclic 24 hrs cycle.

3) Explain the various deviation from rest hours.

4) Confirm the importance of each crew maintaining his or her own copy of the rest hours.

5) Have self-confidence and self-assurance whilst dealing with third-party inspectors in case they are asked any questions about hours of work and rest

This course has been developed to provide learners with an understanding of the impacts of human activities on the environment, and the various restorative responses and natural solutions to address these impacts.

Course Goal: This course aims to provide learners with an introduction to the principles of the equipment and technology associated with the bolting of flanged joints for pressurised systems. This course is intended to reflect industry ‘best practice’ for competence in relation to mechanical joint operations and applies to both the onshore and offshore Oil and Gas Industry.
