This course helps you explore how to tackle workplace sustainability challenges using Google’s Teachable Machine. You'll start by learning how to integrate green practices into your daily operations and then dive into creating simple machine learning models to automate tasks like waste sorting and material recognition—all without needing coding experience. Through hands-on projects, you'll train your model to identify plastics, food waste, and biomedical waste, fine-tune them for accuracy, and learn how to deploy them in real-world scenarios. By the end, you’ll be equipped with practical skills to use technology for a greener future. No coding experience is required—just your enthusiasm to make a difference!

This course teaches you all you need to know about the Baltic Moor. It covers the moor's strengths and limitations and includes a step-by-step guide in carrying out the approach, as described by a marine pilot.

This course is presented in three main sections: the oceanography of the Gulf Stream system, satellite data, and computer prediction models. By the end, you will be able to compare several different satellite sources against computer forecasts and will understand the pros and cons of each data source. We will use actual live data, and you will leave the course with a short list of links from NOAA and other scientific agencies that you can use in the future.

Beyond physical health, mental and emotional well-being plays a vital role in seafarers' overall wellness. Holistic well-being recognises the interconnectedness of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health and emphasises the need to address each aspect.

 

Seafarers should adopt holistic approaches to improve their well-being, such as practising mindfulness, maintaining physical fitness, nurturing social connections, engaging in spiritual activities, and finding occupational satisfaction. It is important to provide seafarers with resources and support, including access to mental health professionals, education on the relationship between physical and mental health, and opportunities for physical activity and social engagement. By prioritising holistic well-being, seafarers can effectively cope with the demands of their work and maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Digital logic is the foundation for digital computers and IED’s (Intelligent Electrical Devices). In this course, various numbering systems will be looked at along with binary numbers as they lead into Binary Arithmetic. From there Logic Gates and Switches will form the basis of further study along with Combinational Logic Functions. Electromechanical Relays are first used to demonstrate logical functions as they will then lead to more complex circuitry of Sequential Circuits, Shift Registers and solid-state components.
