Course Description:-

This bundle consists of 3 modules on Boilers, steam system and EGB. Learning is made interesting by narrating the story in an engaging manner, helping Engineers understand and assimilate the theory and application to the various problems. Engineers will find that they have to think out of the box, to come up with various possible solutions. This module covers the Boiler and the complete steam system.

This bundle focuses on Boilers and the steam system. 

1) Tackling practical problems faced on board by understanding the causes and how these manifest themselves. 

2)  Interpreting the symptoms, analysing observations and presenting real solutions.

3) Give Engineers an opportunity to practice their skills given a range of issues in these systems.

Learning Objectives:-

At the end of this module, the candidate will be able to

1) Understand to interpret different parameters relating to Vacuum condensers and air ejectors for fault finding.

2) Be aware of the cause and effect of different phenomena such as foaming and priming, water hammer, loss of vacuum etc.

3)  Know the correct way to carry out systematic checks, tests, and calibration of safety systems.

4) Types and maintenance of steam traps, safety valves, Differential pressure transmitters, and gauge glasses.

5) What action to take in case of oil in the Boiler, EGB fire, and steaming hot well.

6)  Importance of EGB circulating pump, boiler emergency firing.

This training course provides a general overview of the MARPOL requirements concerning the protection against oil pollution from machinery spaces.

Objectives

On completion of the training, students will be able to:

Understand the means for control of discharge of oil residues and the requirements for oil filtering equipment and 15 ppm alarm.

Get familiar with the Oil Record Book, SOPEP booklet and the required drills.

Know the details of MARPOL surveys and the certificates to be issued.

Know the most common PSC deficiencies related to MARPOL Annex I.

On completion of the training program, the student will be awarded:

A Certificate of MARPOL Oil Pollution from Machinery Spaces, issued by Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine & Offshore.

The Certificate of MARPOL Oil Pollution from Machinery Spaces is obtained after completion of the course and passing the online test.
