Presentation 

This training course aims at providing a general description of the different types of lifting appliances that may be found on board ships and offshore units, their main characteristics and operating principles. It provides an introduction to the applicable rules and regulations related to lifting appliances. 

Objectives

On completion of the training, students will be able to: 

Get familiar with the various types of lifting appliances installed on board ships and offshore units. 

Know the regulations, which are relevant for inspection and certification of cargo gear, including international regulations and BV Rules. 

Understand the particularities of lifting appliances and the relevant requirements for the survey of materials and equipment.

Understand the scope of intervention for Cargo Gear in various stages – design, manufacturing and operation, including an overview of control and safety design requirements.

On completion of the training program, the student will be awarded: 

A Certificate of Cargo Gear and Lifting Appliances, issued by Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine & Offshore.

The Certificate of Cargo Gear and Lifting Appliances is obtained after completion of the course and passing the online test. 

Requirements for training related to scaffolding are regulated by law and regulations. This course is based on the requirements of Regulations concerning the Performance of Work, Chapter 17, which is about assembly, dismantling and alteration of scaffolding.

-2-5 meters: 7.5 hours theory and  7.5 hours practical training

-5-9 meters: 15 hours theory and 15 hours practical training

-Over 9 meters: 36 hours theory and 72 hours practical training

This course covers the requirements of theoretical training for scaffolding up to 9 meters, and corresponds to the requirements of the Regulations concerning the Performance of Work, Section 17-2 and 17-3, on theoretical training. There is an additional requirement of 15 hours practical training if 5-9 meters.

The object of this course is to help participants maintain and develop their knowledge of leadership and organisational principles for emergency response teams.

This course is valid for 24 months.

Opplæringen skal gi kompetanse innen:

• Søk og redning
• Bruk av slukkemidler
• Verneutstyr

Deltakeren skal etter endt opplæring kunne:

• gjennomføre søk og redning med riktig bruk av slukke- og verneutstyr
• bruke riktig slukke- og verneutstyr til å slukke en brann
• bruke verne- og pusteluftutstyr riktig, samt utføre sikkerhetskontroll av utstyret

Varighet

Varighet på kurset er 2 dager.

E-læring på ca 1,5 time gjøres hjemme før kursstart

1 kursdag er 8 timer med minimum 6 timers effektiv opplæring

1 time er 60 minutter

Siste kursdag avsluttes ca kl 1330.

Presentation

This training course is based on the Convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea - 1972, (COLREG 72), which aims at determining the signalling system requirements for safe navigation.

Objectives

On completion of the training, students will be able to: Get familiar with steering and sailing rules. Understand the meaning and the positioning of navigation lights. Know the requirements of the Convention concerning lights, shapes and sound signals.

The Certificate of COLREG, issued by Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine & Offshore, is obtained after completing the course and passing the qualification examination.
