Norwegian authorities demand that everyone using personnel lifts must have documented training in the use of lifts. It is the employers’ responsibility to provide such training for their employees. (See “Regulations concerning the performance of work” nr. 1357, § 10-2)

Employers are now incorporating seafarer’s soft skills into their crewing decisions. The soft, ‘non-technical skills’ are increasingly important on board due to the rapidly changing workforce and automation of technical tasks. Additionally, maritime accident investigations indicate that a lack of soft skills and human error is the most common reason behind accidents at sea.

This course replaces the previous PRO-015 Basic HSE-Management course.

This course is designed to improve the participants' ability to handle HSE challenges in their daily work, and provides reasons for why this work is both useful and profitable. The participants are introduced to the most important principles and methods within HSE work. The course provides a theoretical foundation in HSE, all the time with a clear view of how the work with safety, health and environment is planned and carried out in practice.
