Course Description:- The LSA and FFA Inspection Module 2 consists of five virtual tours. Here, you will be guided on how to carry out checks of various firefighting appliances, how to test various associated equipment and ensure all the equipment is ready for immediate use. This course will also show you the most frequent checks and tests carried out by various inspectors and auditors. Learning Objectives:- At the end of this course, the candidate will be able to: · Demonstrate the various checks carried out on the emergency fire pump and will be able to ensure that the emergency fire pump is compliant in all respects, ready for an inspection and ready for immediate use. · Demonstrate the various checks carried out on the Fixed foam operating system as well as the portable foam applicator and ensure it is compliant in all respects, ready for an inspection and ready for immediate use. · Demonstrate the various checks carried out on the Fixed CO2 system and will be able to ensure the CO2 system is compliant in all respects, ready for an inspection and ready for immediate use. · Demonstrate the various checks carried out on the SCBA compressor and will be able to ensure the SCBA compressor is compliant in all respects, ready for an inspection and ready for immediate use. · Demonstrate the various checks required to be carried out for various extinguishers and will be able to ensure the extinguisher are compliant in all respects, ready for an inspection and ready for immediate use. · Demonstrate the various checks to be carried out on the fire hose, the fire hose box and the coupling. The participants will also be able to demonstrate how to check the fire hose and the emergency fire pump using two fire hoses.

On completion of this course, marine professionals will know what pinch points are and where to find them. Students will also know the measures and actions that should be implemented to prevent injuries from pinch points.

Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 80%.

Sometimes it might be an advantage to install one or more ground planes on board. Especially if you experience noise on, for instance, the VHF radio or if some equipment is not fully functional. In some cases, there is a need for a number of separate ground planes, especially if you have multiple pieces of equipment on board that need to be grounded. In this course, you will learn what type of equipment benefits from grounding. You will learn the correct way of grounding with modern solutions suited for leisure boats. This includes modern ground plates, how to connect and install them, and which sizes to look for. After this course, you will know if grounding will be necessary for you and you will be able to safely install and connect them to your devices.
