Is there an assessment?
Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 80%.

Section 7 of the “Safety Regulations for Work and Operation of Electrical Equipment and Installations” (FSE) sets requirements for yearly FSE training for relevant personnel. This e-learning course takes you through the requirements of the regulations and gives you training and instruction in FSE. The course focuses on safety for work on low voltage installations offshore.

 

The course also provides first-aid instruction and training. CPR training must be completed separately.

 

In accordance with section 7 of FSE, FSE and and first-aid training must be completed at least once a year. In order to meet the requirement for being able to provide first aid in the event of electrical accidents, you also need to complete yearly practical training in CPR (mouth-to-mouth and heart compressions).

 

This course addresses a variety of issues and covers how to prevent electrical accidents, routines in the event of accidents, and theoretical first aid, and aims to help prevent harm to people, equipment, and installations.

This course offers knowledge and practical guidance on the maintenance, inspection, and safe handling of synthetic mooring ropes. Drawing from the latest industry standards, including MEG4 guidelines, the training equips participants with the skills to optimise rope performance, ensure crew safety, and extend the service life of synthetic ropes. After completing the course, participants will be able to: - Perform routine and detailed inspections of synthetic ropes with confidence. - Implement effective maintenance practices to maximise the ropes’ lifespan. - Apply industry-standard safety measures to minimise risks during mooring operations. - Identify and address potential issues in synthetic ropes before they lead to failures. - Align operational practices with MEG4 guidelines for enhanced efficiency and compliance.

The Test is designed around the approved guidelines for Maritime English developed by the IMO. These guidelines are combined with internationally recognised methods for English language testing to form a rigorous and accurate testing system.

The English Tests are designed from the ground up using approved guidelines from the International Maritime Organisation (IMO Model English course 3.17); IMO Standard Marine Communication Phrases (SMCPs); and consistent with the framework set out by the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping.
