This course is a course containing menu planning and cost control for seafarers onboard vessels.

This Engine Room Rounds course shows the learner how to conduct rounds of the engine room in a structured way, and what equipment checks to carry out in the machinery spaces of typical large ships.

The course details how an Engineer Officer Of the Watch (EOOW) should carry out the proper checks in the machinery space to ensure that equipment is operating correctly when starting your watchkeeping or UMS duties.

We will begin with introductory parts to the engine department, company policy, and furthermore, we discuss the duties and responsibilities of the EOOW. More in detail, this Engine Room Rounds course will cover the ship Engineering Department; the Engine Department's Team Management; The Company Policy and Procedures for EOOW; Personnel Safety Equipment (PPE) for EOOW; Record-keeping and Reporting by EOOW; Emergency preparedness and EOOW; Changing Over Watches in Engine Room; Periodic Checks and Engine Room Rounds by EOOW; Alarms, and Actions during Watch by EOOW; Emission Control Areas and Fuel Change Over by EOOW; Preparation for Unattended Machinery Spaces(UMS) by EOOW; and Security threats and duties of the EOOW.
