The objective of the training is to ensure that participants refresh and maintain previously acquired competence, both theoretical and practical, related to safe operational procedures and emergency operations involving offshore cranes, in order to prevent incidents and accidents.

The training is conducted in accordance with the training plan for Module P-4.1.1 and fulfills the recurrent training requirements of NORSOK R-003.

• Introduction

• Incidents and accidents involving offshore cranes

• Laws, regulations and standards related to offshore cranes

• Operational limitations during crane operations

• Planning of lifting operations (TBT, SJA, work permits)

• Internal lifts, loading operations, lifting from/to supply vessels, critical lifts, personnel transport

• Emergency operations

• Communication

• Practical operations using simulator

• Theoretical and practical examination

Who is this course for?

All catering crew expected to undergo a SIRE 2.0 inspection.

Is previous experience required?

Learners should have completed the Introduction to SIRE 2.0 course on Trainingportal

Is there an assessment?

Yes. Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 70%.
