Presentation

This training course provides a general introduction to welding, including an introduction to metallurgy, general information concerning welding, an overview of the electric arc processes commonly used in shipbuilding and details of welding inspection.

Objectives

On completion of the training, students will be able to:

Understand the nature and know the mechanical properties of metals; Understand the production process of steel and aluminium and the application of casting and forging processes.

Understand fundaments of fusion welding; Know how to determine heat input and preheat temperature; Understand the influence of the thermal cycle on weld microstructure and distortion; Know the general types of welding joints and the different welding positions

Know how to differ and recognize the arc welding processes used in shipbuilding; Understand the applicability and limitations of the different welding processes; Get familiar with common types of arc welding equipment and power sources

Know and apply the required activities in welding inspection; Determine and arrange the scope of inspection plan for different tasks; Know the different types of weld imperfections; Understand how to perform visual inspection of welding

Certificate

On completion of the training program, the student will be awarded:

A Certificate of Welding Fundamentals, issued by Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine & Offshore.

The Certificate of Welding Fundamentals is obtained after completing the course and passing the online test.

Målsetting: Forebygge at personell som arbeider nær ved elektriske anlegg og betjener elektrisk utstyr ikke blir utsatt for ulykker som er forårsaket av kortslutning (lysbue) eller strømgjennomgang i et lavspenningsanlegg.

Deltakerne vil også få opplæring i hvordan man skal opptre hvis en kommer opp i en ulykke forårsaket av elektrisk strøm, samt teoretisk opplæring i førstehjelp (HLR).

Kurset er i henhold til: Kurset tilfredsstiller myndighetenes krav iht. FSE-forskriftens §§ 2 og 3 og DSB`s Elsikkerhet nr. 73 og 84 for ikke sakkyndig personell som skal arbeide med enkle driftsoppgaver. Årlig repetisjon er et myndighetskrav, ref. FSE-forskriften § 7.

Læremål: Etter gjennomført kurs skal deltakerne ha en bevisst holdning til elsikkerhet, slik at antall personskader og skader på materiell pga. elektrisk strøm blir redusert.

FSE opplæring skal gi kunnskap om regelverk og instruksjoner, enkle vedlikeholdsoppgaver, hvordan betjene et elektrisk anlegg med blant annet sikringer og motorvern, risikovurdering og planlegging, jordfeilproblematikk og faremomenter, bruk av måleinstrumenter, bruk av verneutstyr og til slutt melding om ulykker og opplæring i førstehjelp ved strømulykker.

Kurset tilfredsstiller myndighetenes krav om årlig teoretisk oppdatering i FSE inkl. førstehjelp, med unntak av hjerte-lunge-redning (HLR). Det er viktig at dere i tillegg til denne teoretiske gjennomgangen i førstehjelp får øvelse i HLR (munn- til munn og hjertekompresjon). Det skal ikke være mer enn 12 måneder mellom hver opplæring jf. veiledning til §7 i FSE.
