Course Description:-

This bundle consists of 10 modules dealing with the inspection of the upper deck area.

This bundle focuses on the upper deck area and focuses on various checks, including checking the general housekeeping, the deck equipment and machinery, the LSA and FFA in general, the Manifold area, and the emergency preparedness, how to test various associated deck equipment and ensure all the equipment is ready for immediate use. 

1) You will be guided on how to carry out various checks in specific areas like the Midship crane, gangway and pilot ladder, Deck seal, PV breaker, the pipelines in general, SOPEP equipment, the status of the IG tank valves, the manifolds especially the off shore manifolds, Cargo hose connections, scupper and drain plugs of various save-alls and the mooring winches and mooring lines, This module will also show you the most frequent checks and tests carried out by various inspectors and auditors.

2) It will help combine your knowledge, core competency, your soft skills, your situational awareness and your attitude and empower you to be an efficient member of the vessel’s team.

3) It will assure the candidate on how to deal with third-party Inspectors professionally and how to handle the situation maturely. It also serves as a refresher training before any inspection and, in turn, will boost the candidate's confidence.  

 

Learning Objectives:-

At the end of this module, the candidate will be able to:

1) Demonstrate and carry out systematic checks and tests whilst inspecting the upper deck area and will be able to ensure that the aft deck is compliant in all respects and ready for inspection.

2) Demonstrate the various general checks that are carried out in specific areas like Midship crane, gangway and pilot ladder, SOPEP equipment, scuppers on deck and drain plugs of various save-alls and the mooring winches and mooring lines, and will be able to ensure that these areas are compliant in all respects and ready for inspection.
