Course Description:-

This course consists of 2 modules. It gives an insight of the conduct of the Bridge team in Pilotage waters; this must be viewed in conjunction with your SMS, your company-navigational procedures and checklists. 

Created from real-life dialogues between the bridge team and the pilot, you will get an insight into the preparation, both arrival port and departure port, with the pilot on board.

The module explains the preparation prior to pilot boarding and the Master pilot exchange procedures. Also, in case the pilot decides to amend the route after getting updates from the VTS, the ship’s passage plan must be amended and recorded accordingly. 

This also serves as a reminder to ensure the various checklists, the log book and the movement book are correctly filled, as these will most likely be checked by various inspectors and auditors. 

 

Learning Objectives:-

At the end of this module, the candidate will be able to, 

1) Explain the bridge arrival checklist/ bridge departure checklist prior to Pilot boarding 

2) Explain the various information required to give port control prior to the pilot boarding

3) Explain the information exchanged between the Master and pilot, including the passage plan, intended track, the number of tugs, the berth and the final mooring arrangements  

4) Explain all the tests to be carried out prior to arrival/departure and ensure the bridge manning level is as per the SMS. 

5) Confirm that the pilot only advises, but the Master has an overriding authority and is in command.  

6) Confidently seek clarification or politely challenge the pilot 

7) Have self-confidence and self-assurance while dealing with third-party inspectors and answering questions related to the pilot and the bridge team

Course Description:-

This bundle consists of 8 modules, which include various aspects of engine room watchkeeping, including the engine control room.

This bundle focuses on the engine room.

1) You will be various aspects of engine room watchkeeping, including the engine control room and the testing and inspections of various machinery, UMS procedures, and various documentation, including the engine log book This module will also show you the most frequent checks and tests carried out by various inspectors and auditors.

2) It will help combine your knowledge, core competency, your soft skills, your situational awareness and your attitude and empower you to be an efficient member of the vessel’s team.

3) It will assure the candidate on how to deal with third-party Inspectors professionally and how to handle the situation maturely. It also serves as a refresher training before any inspection and, in turn, will boost the candidate's confidence.

 

Learning Objectives:-

At the end of this module, the candidate will be able to

 

1) Carry out systematic checks and tests whilst inspecting the engine room and the associated machinery; this will ensure that these spaces are compliant and ready for inspection.

2) Plan, manage and work more efficiently, which in turn will build confidence and improve efficiency

3) understand the responsibility and importance of having the right attitude when dealing with third-party inspectors, 

4) understand the importance of good housekeeping, accurate record keeping and complying with the Company SMS, International statutory and Flag state requirements

There is a high risk of fires if employees don't know what to do or are not properly trained and instructed. Risks due to fires is more likely if they don't practice fire drills regularly. You will learn the three aspects of fire safety training: identifying fire, steps to mitigate fire, and how to prevent fire.

In this course, you will:

• Identify fire hazards at workplace

• Understand the steps to take in the event of fire

• Learn how to prevent fire at the workplace

This course is taken externally on the Astutis platform, the delegate will receive a separate email from the provider with access details once this is processed by Astutis.

The enrolment will then be marked complete in Trainingportal once the course is passed.

Final Assessment:

A short multiple choice test, taken at the end of the course.  You will have 30 minutes to answer 21 questions in a variety of formats, including multiple choice, true/false and open questions with short answer.

This course focuses on the final checks on arrival for the bridge, deck, CCR accommodation, forecastle, and pumproom to ensure the vessel is compliant in all respects and ready for any inspection. At the end of this module, the candidate will be able to: · Demonstrate the various general checks and tests that are carried out in the Accommodation, CCR and aft deck on arrival and will be able to ensure that the Accommodation, CCR, and aft decks are compliant in all respects and ready for inspection. · Demonstrate the various general checks and tests that are carried out on the bridge on arrival and will be able to ensure that the bridge is compliant in all respects and ready for inspection. · Demonstrate the various general checks and tests that are carried out on the main deck and forecastle area on arrival and will be able to ensure that the main deck and forecastle are compliant in all respects and ready for inspection. · Demonstrate the various general checks and tests that are carried out in the pump room on arrival and will be able to ensure that the pump room is compliant in all respects and ready for inspection.

In this course, we will cover: - Heart Attack, - Poisoning, and - Stroke.

In this course, we will cover: - Diabetes, - Asthma, and - Anaphylaxis.

In this course, we shall be focusing on the third focus of the WHO 2008 guidelines. We will be reviewing, (in addition to some environmental microorganisms) some of the most important organisms reported in Western countries as potentially transmissible pathogens in water. Attention will be focused on their morphological, biochemical and functional characteristics, the symptomatology of diseases associated with them and the response to environmental factors and water treatment.
