The Logistics course is divided into two parts, Art Management: Logistics Handling and Packing which is this one and another course, Art Management: Logistics Transport and Storage which will cover different aspects of the module.

The purpose of these courses is to give you all the tools you need to know about in order to move artwork from A to B.

In this course, we will be covering all aspects of logistics so you can have a holistic view of what it's about, how you go about instructing a logistics company and the things that you have to think about. This course will focus mainly on the packing and handling of such art and valuable artefacts. It will help you manage the risk because moving objects is one of the riskiest things you can do with them. Remember in our insurance course we mentioned that artefacts are unique and generally irreplaceable, so it is important not to damage or lose them.

It’s a fact that we are exposed to a range of risks and hazards during a normal working day. This course will provide the trainee with information about fire safety, PPE and safety monitoring within the workplace. This course looks at safety at work, fire safety and safety signs, PPE, different types of PPE and correct safety monitoring. The aim is to help reduce the number of accidents and injuries in the workplace and to promote good attitudes amongst the staff.

Accident Reporting will help make you aware of the different kinds of incidents which need to be reported at work, what procedures to follow, how to collect data and how to maintain proper RIDDOR records.

This training course provides a general overview of the MARPOL requirements to prevent air pollution from ships and offshore units.

Objectives

On completion of the training, students will be able to:

Know the international regulations related to the prevention of air pollution from ships and offshore units.

Understand the requirements for the control of emissions of substances from ships and offshore units.

Get familiar with the requirements concerning shipboard incineration and fuel oil quality.

Understand the concept of energy efficiency and related MARPOL requirements.

Know the various surveys required and the different certificates and documents to be available on board.

The Certificate of MARPOL Air Pollution is obtained after completion of the course and passing the online test.

The course shall provide knowledge and skills in accordance with the requirements regarding safe use and servicing of fall protection equipment. Practical knowledge of rigging and proper use of rescue equipment, use of rope access,  rescue of free hanging person, over open sea, tank, use of stretcher, abseils and treatment  using first aid equipment (neck brace etc).
