Norwegian authorities demand that employees who need to use fall protection equipment in their line of work have been given sufficient training in the use of this equipment. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the employees have received this training. The course provides basic theoretical knowledge of fall protection measures and equipment.

Objective:
The course gives insights into fall theory and common fall protection methods and equipment. It raises safety awareness and helps prevent accidents and injuries at the workplace.

Water Control and Management for Human Consumption course is carried out in accordance with the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (MLC 2006) and the Guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) 2008 (Guidelines for Drinking-Water Quality, Recommendations, 3rd Edition Volume 1). This course wants to contribute to the training of the personnel assigned to the control of the waters on board, and to all those who use water for their tasks. Moreover, the course is directed to those with the responsibility of the verification of compliance required by Title 5 of the MLC 2006 (Title 5. Compliance and enforcement). Is there an assessment?

Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 80%.

This course will cover the fundamental trigonometry for studying AC current, voltage and impedance calculations; phasors (vectors) are used and combined mathematically lending themselves to several needs to rely on trig functions and identities. We shall then cover: Point Lines and Angles, Intersecting and Parallel, the Pythagorean Theorem and finally delve deeper into trigonometry with a look at unique triangles, rations, unit circles, trig identities, etc.

Inspections have now become the primary focus in assessing the condition of vessels and the competence of all on board. It has an oversized impact on the image of the company, management, staff on board and commercial viability. This course guides engineers and crew on how to prepare an E.R. for inspections. With the focus shifting increasingly towards 'human factors'; it’s a requirement that all Seafarers are knowledgeable about their responsibilities and duties, concerning operations, maintenance, safety, emergency preparedness and environmental protection. It's also important for ship staff to be able to demonstrate confidence in accessing company instructions where required, as it has become an integral part of the inspection regime.
