IOSH Working Safely is an essential short course for employees of organisations in any industry sector who need a grounding in health and safety. 

 

Provides an awareness of general workplace hazards and focuses on why health and safety is important to the well-being of the individual worker and those around them.

 

On completion of the course, learners will be able to:

• Staff's responsibility towards health, safety and wellbeing

Tanjung Priok is a port district in the province of Jakarta, Indonesia. It is a small place in Indonesia that can be easily explored within a day. There are not many attractions in Tanjung Priok but the port is the largest port in Indonesia and in this course, we will show you where to go.

 

The life of a seafarer is by no means easy. Seafarers spend months at a time away from their loved ones. Needless to say, once the ship docks in port, many seafarers will often attempt to take some shore leave for a limited number of hours to provide them with a short respite from work duties and a change in scenery. This is extremely important to ensure the mental health and wellbeing of the seafarers.

 

In this course, we will provide you with all the information you need to know to spend a day in Jakarta.

It is the philosophy and tactics that a person employs to manage, advise, and motivate others that constitute a leadership style; various aspects of a person’s management style might be included in this category. Leaders may also be judged on how effectively they pay attention to and use big-picture methods like achieving business goals.

Batteries: The batteries must solve many different tasks, for example, thruster, engine start, supply power for navigation equipment, lights and radio for an entire trip. Not all battery types are equally suitable for all tasks. In this course, you will learn about the advantages and disadvantages of the different battery types and where the individual types can be used with an advantage. You will also learn good practice about charging, resting voltage and how to prolong battery life. Chargers: The charger must fit the size of the battery bank. In this course, you will learn how to calculate power consumption and how to choose the right charger. One is to use the power optimally, but something else is to get recharged as quickly and efficiently as possible. Also, you will learn why it pays to invest in a charger with bulk, absorption and float modes. Anchor windlass and bow thruster: Batteries are closely connected to anchor winches and bow thrusters. These are two of the largest electricity consumers on board. In this course, you will get an overview of a typical electrical setup of a windlass and a bow thruster. Also, you will learn why the batteries should be placed close to the bow thruster.

The soft, ‘non-technical skills’ are increasingly important on board due to the rapidly changing workforce and automation of technical tasks. Additionally, maritime accident investigations indicate that a lack of soft skills and human error is the most common reason behind accidents at sea.

Is there an assessment? 

Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 70%.

Kurset gir kunnskap om farer ved hydrogensulfid og svoveldioksid, symptomer ved forgiftning og kunnskap om livreddende førstehjelp. Kursdeltakerne skal lære å ta vare på egen og andres sikkerhet ved riktig bruk av verneutstyr. Etter fullført kurs kan deltakerne arbeide i H2S-utsatte områder.
