Description:
The course is divided into modules, with each module focusing on a specific drill or exercise, as outlined in the provided table in the first lesson of the course: The Importance of IMO-Mandated Drills and An Overview of All Drills; SOLAS Drills; MARPOL Drills; STCW Drills and Training; ISM Code Drills & ISPS Code Drills and an Assessment. Also, challenges in conducting shipboard drills from a seafarer's perspective are discussed, followed by examples of case scenarios related to shipboard drill issues, allowing participants to learn from the experiences of others and gain insights into potential challenges and best practices. Upon completing this course, participants will have a solid understanding of the various IMO Conventions and Regulations and their practical implications. They will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct drills and exercises effectively, ensuring the safety, security, and environmental protection of ships and their crew members. The course ends with a quiz to test participants' understanding of the material. However, it is important to stress that you always orient yourself towards your ship's specifications and follow your shipping company-approved safety procedures.
