Any crew who require an overview of the fire hazards present and precautions necessary when working with or around liquefied gas.

 

Is previous experience required?

No previous experience is required to complete this course.

 

How will the course benefit me?

A fire onboard any ship can be catastrophic. This course will provide you with an overview of the chemistry of fire, the importance of detecting leaks before a fire can start and the actions to take in an emergency should a fire occur.

 

How will the course benefit my company?

By ensuring crew are familiar with the inherent fire hazards when working with or around liquefied gases and the steps that can be taken to reduce ignition risks.

 

What standards are referenced in the course?

The International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Liquefied Gases in Bulk (IGC) Code

The International Safety Management (ISM) Code

 

Is there an assessment?

Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 70%.
