The course provides an introduction to the different types of hatch covers used on bulk carriers (including folding, side rolling, lift away, piggy-back, single flap and stacking), and their inspection and maintenance.

Personnel will have a greater understanding of the different types of hatch covers (including folding, side rolling, lift away, piggy-back, single flap and stacking) used onboard, and the importance of inspecting and maintaining them.

Is there an assessment?

Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 70%.
